McHenry County citizen Sharon Meroni is a citizen on a quest for the truth. Her path has been nothing short of miraculous in seeking the answer to one question that will not go away… Who are the candidates on her ballot and are they constitutionally qualified to be on it?
The Illinois Constitution sates that candidates "Must & Shall be U.S. Citizens" yet it is not possible for any person in any office or any citizen to challenge what the candidate has sworn to be true. County Clerks are not even allowed to ask for proof of citizenship when nominating petitions are turned in. In essence nominating petitions are based on the veracity of the claim of the validity by the candidate – period.
We need documentation for our children to be on a little league team yet no documentation is sought, or obtainable from those that will make laws that directly effect our lives?
Why a different standared of scrutiny for an Illinois politician of all people?
The 5 day time frame to challenge to the petitions are not posted. If by some luck of the draw they are challenged privacy laws protect the candidate from any scrutiny.
Could this now change for the citizens of Illinois?
Call Lisa Madigan and ask her why the Attorney General's office would do such a thing?
This makes both those with and without gun registrations vulnerable to would be criminals.

ALERT... Illinois House Bill 1886- Being fast tracked in Springfield, IL
This bill would void all powers of elected IL school boards (EXCEPT CHICAGO). Taxpayers would not have any direct representation of their school districts as they will be lumped into "County School Boards"
Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Provides that within 60 days after the effective date of the amendatory Act, on a date set by the State Board of Education, a special election must be held in each county to elect members to a county school board. Provides that on July 1, 2012, (i) all school districts in this State in existence on June 30, 2012 (other than the Chicago school district) are dissolved; (ii) their school boards are abolished; (iii) the terms of all board members end; and (iv) all of the powers, duties, assets, liabilities, employees, contracts, property, records, pending business, and unexpended funds of each school board are transferred to the appropriate county school board or boards. Provides that on July 1, 2012, each county shall constitute one school district to be governed by a county school board, unless the county school board has divided the county into 2 or more school districts, in which case each of those school districts shall be governed by a school board elected as provided under the Code, and the county school board shall be dissolved upon those school board members taking office. Effective immediately.
